COMPANY INFORMATION

Chance events made us realize the importance of personal recordkeeping.  They also brought the three founders of what has become IDentoMetric Solutions, L.L.C. together to create Lifelong Personal Health Record (LPHR) and the business to support it and other personal data products.

Two of us met at a conference held by the United Nations in New York City in June 2007.  We discovered that we had a lot in common with distinguished careers and consulting for AT&T, Verizon, IBM, Ernst & Young, US Steel and others.  We investigated consulting opportunities in data security and relationships with several other engineering and management professionals.  Then healthcare caught our attention through personal experiences with all the waste and complexity.

One thing led to another.  Taking market research and encouragement from friends and family, we prepared a business plan based upon a Continuous Improvement Model.  We created a crude working prototype by March 2009.  All we needed was a professional software developer to make it happen.  He turned out to be a longtime friend and neighbor with an established software development business.

By September 2009, we registered the business.  Since then we have collected feedback, polished the product and build Internet based systems to manage the software marketing, sales, delivery and customer service operations.

We are currently seeking others interested in helping us grow the business and expand our product offerings.  We have planned enhancements and see many opportunities for others to work with us.  We periodically update our business plan as we find more uses for LPHR that include charitable fundraisers and employee wellness and disease management programs.

Reflections

Someone who has lived long enough to look back over an extended time soon realizes how easy it can be for positives to turn negative and vice versa. 

Consider the weather.  One day is warm and sunny and the next day it clouds over and a tornado or hurricane roars through and people are caught in flash floods and drown in their beds.  Seeing things on television has a profound enough affect, but being there and experiencing things firsthand with the wind howling, trying to rip off clothing, making rain penetrate to every patch of skin and then standing and assessing damage, that's what really has an impact especially when you learn about people who died right where you are standing.

For the lucky survivors who have lost everything, consider what they must do to rebuild their lives, substantiate insurance claims and even talk intelligently with doctors without memory joggers.  When you realize that no one saves everything that may be needed, it becomes evident that each one of us must take responsibility and at least keep a summary of what would be needed.

Think of people like me who have had a doctor retire or go out of business and leave patients with little or no records.  Now you have a little idea why IDentoMetric Solutions created Lifelong Personal Health Record software.  After learning what is involved, and that even minor inconveniences can be disruptive and difficult to resolve, we knew that not everyone would want to do what we found we needed to do to help ourselves. 

We want others to benefit from what we have learned and accomplished,  It is a legacy we want to leave our children and grandchildren.  We discovered more recently that the increasing complexity of life and healthcare in particular makes recordkeeping and personal life management ever more essential.
